Inspiring the Next Generation of Designers at the Kansas City Design Center
At TEAMS, we believe design thrives where curiosity and collaboration meet. This fall, our Managing Director Andreas Bell visited the Kansas City Design Center (KCDC) to connect with students and share his perspective on what keeps design human.
"Sketching keeps the design process human. It helps us think, communicate, and refine ideas in a way that technology alone can’t replace."
Andreas Bell, Managing Director TEAMS USA

Andreas reflected on his own journey from studying Industrial and Product Design at the University of Kansas to leading TEAMS Design USA. His talk highlighted how sketching remains a vital part of the creative process and how empathy, clarity, and purpose shape meaningful design outcomes.
We were inspired to see how KCDC is nurturing industrial design talent and strengthening the creative community in Kansas City. With support from organizations like KEM STUDIO, IDSA Kansas City, Garmin, and Dimensional Innovations, the program is cultivating the next generation of designers who combine technical skill with human-centered thinking.
We’re proud to be part of a growing design culture that continues to push boundaries and bring thoughtful, people-focused innovation to life.
“The world is getting more complex. Good design needs to keep up. It has to work across systems. It has to tell clear stories.
Thanks to everyone who has been part of the journey so far.
Let’s see where this next story takes us. YES!”
Ulrich Schweig, Global Managing Director TEAMS
