How do you turn advanced robotics into someone people instinctively want to approach? Cyan Robotics identified an opportunity to extend its humanoid platform into a premium companion category built around emotional connection. Building on our previous collaboration on ORCA, we joined forces to bring Amoo to life.

One platform, a new role.
Cyan calls the category Embodied Character Intelligence, a new form of home companion for people across different ages and household situations, from those living alone or growing older at home to families with children. Amoo combines autonomous movement, multimodal perception and an evolving personality in one responsive product. It can move through the home, seek out interaction, perceive voices, facial expressions, gestures and touch, and respond through language, gaze, body movement and emotional expression.

Strategic design: From platform to personality.
Before defining Amoo’s form, we helped define the role it should play. The decisive shift was to move beyond the familiar model of a robot as a tool waiting for commands and establish Amoo as a character capable of initiating and sustaining interaction. This strategic decision aligned user needs, Cyan’s brand ambition, technical feasibility and market differentiation in one clear product proposition.
We then designed Amoo from the relationship outward. How close should a companion come? What makes touch feel safe? How can movement express curiosity, affection or disagreement before a word is spoken? These questions became a strategic design framework spanning target-group needs, autonomy, character behavior, proportions, materials, gestures, safety and engineering.
The result is more than a distinctive product. It is a coherent foundation for a scalable companion platform, one that translates advanced robotics into an experience people can intuitively understand, trust and welcome into everyday life.



All eyes, ears and fur.
Amoo perceives facial expressions, movements, voices and physical contact through vision, sound and tactile sensors.
Cyan’s Agentic OS processes these signals and makes him act accordingly.
The architecture creates opportunities for proprietary characters, licensed editions, digital services and applications in commercial and care environments.








An intuitive response.
After ten months of development, Amoo made its public debut at AWE 2026.
Visitors gathered around, reached out to touch the soft body, took photographs and interacted with the character. Their instinctive response offered early validation of the central idea: when advanced robotics feels approachable, people engage with it differently.
