In rethinking its environmental impact, Bosch unveiled a line of heavy-duty, battery-powered concrete tools,
with the aim of shifting the industry standard away from petroleum fuel.

Thinking Electric
As more awareness is brought to the harmful carbon emissions created by gas-powered devices, battery- powered tools are changing the game of the tool market. Battery-powered electric tools are quieter, lighter, and more environmentally friendly than traditional gas-powered tools, therefore requiring less maintenance, mechanical training, and special handling. Also, the absence of a power cord makes these tools more flexible by providing users with greater freedom of movement.
The Bosch Concrete Saw and Cut-Off Tool are battery- powered tools that can used in most indoor work environments, enhancing productivity and improving user experience without compromising safety.

Usability Through Ergonomics
The primary challenge in designing the Bosh Concrete Saw was achieving an optimal balance for the tool’s weight. By refining the height, angle, and overall dimensions of the auxiliary handle, we ensured that the saw would rest perpendicular to the ground when carried in one hand, without obstructing visibility while the tool is in use.
For ease of maintenance and future adaptability, we designed specialized mechanisms to streamline the blade changing process. Additionally, the waterproof battery compartment was designed with a swappable lid for both the protection
of the battery and to accommodate the use of larger battery sizes.

Compact and Powerful
Designed for precise drywall cutting, the cordless Bosch GCU18V-30N Cutout Tool provides high visibility and freedom of movement. Every touchpoint was carefully crafted to feel intuitive and natural, while maintaining the powerful design language characteristic of all Bosch tools.

Precision Matters
Unlike many other tools in the drywall category, the Bosch Cutout Tool was designed with a compact integrated dust extraction system rather than requiring bulky, inconvenient external attachments that further obstruct visibility in an already dusty environment.
The front of the tool features a circular targeting component that functions like crosshairs to help the user precisely and intuitively center the bit during use.
