Trend & Technology Research
LogiMAT, the International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management, is the biggest annual intralogistics exhibition in Europe. It provides a comprehensive market overview and knowledge within this field. We have some key insights from our visit to share.
Logistic Becomes Service: Servitization
The LogiMat 2019 showed that the industry understands how to combine hardware and service.
"Logistics companies who think digitally about their processes and business models, both on a small and a large scale, are the players of the future." Ulrich Schweig, Managing Partner TEAMS Design Hamburg
E–Performance & Li-Ion Technologies
In the logistics industry, E-Mobility has long had a high degree of market penetration and now it reaches larger forklifts. Counterbalance trucks with a 7, 8 or 9 ton payload, challenge the combustion forklifts in their performance. Also, the new batteries equipped with Li-Ion technology provide greater power.
Automation – Systems
Warehouse processes are fully automated today and will be in the future. Not only is the storage and retrieval controlled by automatic systems but also the assembly.
Automatic storage and disposal systems guarantee consistent data collection. Today, this is not only possible with large-scale productions but also with small individual processes.
Dual Operated Warehouse Vehicles - Cobots
The human/warehouse worker interacts with automatically controlled vehicles. In doing so, the work processes between human and machine closely associated, such as in order picking.
An operator of warehouse vehicles may drive with various standardized assistants in all processes. For example, in driving, storage and retrieval, and assembly. The major focuses here are speed, safety and efficiency.
