The First Comprehensive Exhibition About H. E. Slany
Hans Erich Slany (1926 – 2013), born in Esslingen, is also considered by many one of the icons of design in Germany. Slany, TEAMS Founder, Industrial Design Professor for more than 20 years, and one of the founders of the Association of German Designers (VDID) conquered markets, his influence on the economic success of the product he designed was huge. His credo, in the spirit of the Bauhaus, was that FORM MUST FOLLOW FUNCTION to make handling as pleasant as possible for users, from people in the household to industrial workers.
A comprehensive exhibition about Hans Erich Slany will be hosted by the Art Association of Esslingen. Visitors will be guided along his path as a designer, his influence on the German design field/Industry, and why he is considered one of the most influential designers of the second half of the 20th century.
