Designing Industrial Vehicles

Transportation adds a further dimension to design: movement.

Whether dealing with the movement of people, goods, or automobiles, these products need a sophisticated respect of material technologies, production techniques and ergonomics.

Our clients are market leaders because of their own expertise.

This is a concept fork-lift truck that combines innovative technology and improved user requirements. Uniquely, the cabin rises with the load, thus optimizing visibility.

Many features were included in this design, including a driver logging system, automatic safety barrier, telescopic fork shaft, interchangeable rear battery, extending wheel base, and an intuitive joystick control arm.

When driving the driver can raise the cabin to allow visibility over the load. Rear visibility is also improved using a rearview camera, which projects onto the front windshield when reversing.

The interior offers different challenges to the designer, where we focus on optimizing the ergonomics and adding innovative time-saving features for the driver.

This 2003 design replaced the company's best-selling forklift truck, and sold more units in its first six months than its predecessor's best year. The design launched a new brand look for the company and offers many features for the driver, inspired by our RXX concept vehicle.
