Being asked about the design quality of the several hundred submitted products, Martin says, "At least some of the products we saw really have a strong level of innovation and provide a good user experience as well as proper manufacturing and assembly quality. It is obvious that China's strategic transition from the former workbench of the world towards an independent, capable and innovative domestic economy is bearing fruit. The CF Awards are one of many good examples Chinese economic authorities have installed to sustainably improve the quality and competitiveness of products developed and made in China. It will be interesting to see if the term "Made in China" is tackling a similar route as "Made in Germany" once did.
